We will learn about some of the great debates in Jewish medical history throughout the centuries. Topics will span from the Middle Ages to the 21st century: the use of ancient Egyptian mummies for medicinal purposes; the 3-day burial controversy; artificial insemination with donor seed; abortion in the case of severe fetal disease; the definition of maternity in surrogate motherhood; and conclude with the debate about the moment of death.
